Teresita’s Restaurant specializes in authentic Mexican cuisine with recipes that have been handed down from one generation to the next - originating from the Pueblo of Teul de Gonzalez Ortega in Zacatecas, Mexico.

Teresita’s masterful hand at cooking has been sharing her homemade dishes with the public for over a decade when it was first called Puerto Nuevo restaurant since May 1, 1983. It began as a humble establishment with a seating capacity of 25 and a take-out counter, with family contributing in sharing various responsibilities to maintain the restaurant.

Through Teresita’s flavorful dishes and the family’s eleven-year dedication to the restaurant, they decided to expand and renovate its facilities to accommodate a growing clientele in order to provide a casual but unique dining experience. It was then that it was officially and appropriately re-named Teresita’s Restaurant on March 28 th 1994, located @:  3826 E.1 st Street in East Los Angeles.

Though the restaurant has its own crew of employees, eldest son Jesus Antonio manages the restaurant while husband Antonio continues to maintain the facilities. Teresita can still be found supervising the kitchen, preparing the daily menu, serving dishes and greeting the customers with a warm and welcoming smile.

Their delicious menu is available for viewing.  You can click on the pictures provided to check what is avialable so you can plan ahead.  Your experience at Teresita's Restaurant will be so wonderful and warming that you will not hesitate to return.  My breakfast favorite is Nopales con Huevo and my favorite choice for dinner is the Birria de Chivo.  I am a chocolate lover, so the Hot Chocolate is my favorite beverage.  Try this place out! You won't regret it.

I met Gavin back when I used to work at the Downtown Los Angeles, Gold's Gym as an in house personal trainer.  He was one of my clients whom I worked with for several months.  He always had a great additude about learning exercises and was especially concerned about learning proper technique.

I loved his attitude because the guy always had a big smile just like in the picture to the left.  He was serious when it came down to business with me and I really respect the guy for his ambition to maintain a physically active lifestyle.  I think his positive additude and drive for perfection has made him one of the most creative, artistic chef's I've ever met in my life.  I've eaten in places with the not so good standards of care when it comes to cleanliness to the most anal restruants.  Lot's a chef's like to display their artistic talents when they prepare their meals but this guy I believe tops them.  Meet Gavin!

Hi

I’m Gavin. I have always loved food and cooking but my passion and love in life are cakes & cake decorating.

I started out as a junior chef In London working in many trendy and fashionable restaurants hungry to learn the trade. Once I had proven to myself I was capable and showed a flair for cooking, I moved toward independent catering where I cooked for many English Aristocrats, Politicians and Celebrities in the UK.

Wanting more, I took my career a step further and accepted the role as Head Chef for one of London’s leading and well respected caterers testing my ability to manage a brigade and advance my leadership and cooking skills. Being able to run a kitchen was not enough for me and I still felt unfulfilled so I followed my heart and studied sugar craft and cake decorating in London.
Once I had learnt this new skill I truly felt I had found my calling. I had found the perfect medium to marry cooking and art.

I love to create tasty yet beautiful food and my style ranges from simple and classic to avant-garde and funky.

You give me your ideas and I will let them inspire me.

I cater for Dinner parties, Hors d’ Oeuvres & Buffets to Weddings, Picnic baskets, Drop-off meals , children’s parties and Cakes...The Kakeman is here to help.

Have you recently been injured?  I strongly reccommend you consult with Davis Koh!

Davis Koh is a Physical Therapist working out of Irvine, California.  I met this guy several months back when I attended my first ever Kettlebell experience.  I didn't really know much about Kettlebells so I really didn't have much of an opinion about them at the time.  I went to get my first experience of this growing standard in training and met Davis at his private gym type Physical Therapy office which he prefers to call a 'Lab'.

I had my share of Physical Therapy back in 1998 when I was re-habilitating from several gun shot to my body ( that's another story ).  I found my Physical Therapy experience extremely boring but what had given me the most negative view, attitude and impression about Physical Therapists was what seemed to be a lack of personal connection with the people working on me.  I say 'people' because I had several therapist working on several areas of my body.  Half the time they walked away and didn't attend to me much except for when it was time for my session to end.  They'd hook me up to some device or give me some of their toys to play with, but they were gone the rest of the time.

Davis Koh set up his business in a small gym like setting to focus his personal attention on his clients and not some strange place in la la land like the physical therapist I had been given to work on me.  His services are unique in many ways and like myself he offers services not available by the rest of the competition out there.

I admire the guy because he also uses Kettlebells as part of his services along with some special technique pictures on the left which is very similar to a Traditional Chinese instrument called Guasha which have a similar concept in terms of how it is used to rehabilitate the body.  He also sends me e-mails notifying me about events related to personal training, athletic training and re-habilitation.
